Simon Hardimé specialised in still-lifes and flowers and fruit, and studied under J.B. Crepu in Antwerp , becoming a master in the guild of St. Luke in c. 1688/89. In 1700 the artist travelled to , establishing a practice in London , remaining there from 1720 until his death in 1737. He was commissioned to paint pictures for various British aristocracy, including Lord Scarborough.
